5 Tips to Have the Most FUN Wedding Day Ever!
EAT! After the wedding, go somewhere private- just the two of you and spend 15 minutes taking time to EAT! Trust us, you WILL forget! Miles and I didn’t even get to try our wedding cake (other than the teeny tiny piece we fed each other). It’s your wedding day! You planned this food for months! Don’t forget to enjoy it!
Wedding Playlist (choose some favorites like Cupid Shuffle, YMCA, etc.) to encourage LOTS of dancing! A good music playlist will make your wedding UNFORGETTABLE! Have a DJ or designated person with lots of hype to get people on the dance floor, and have a blast! Some of our favorite (and most fun) weddings have had coordinated line dancing, the bride and groom leading the crowd in the Macarena, the chicken dance (yeah, it’s dumb. BUT it works!), a bridesmaid or groomsman starts a conga line, etc. People love to join in on dances that are easy, full of people doing the same moves, and make everyone laugh!
Drinks - Open Bar with a Signature Cocktail. If you’re serving alcohol at your wedding, add in some ingredients and instructions to make a signature drink. Give it a silly name and showcase it on a special table. Your guests will enjoy the humor and the free booze ;)
Wedding Speeches to Remember. When thinking about who will give a speech at your wedding, do NOT pick someone who tends to go down a rabbit hole and talk for 20 minutes straight. You want your speeches to be a maximum of 5 minutes per person. This will allow time for more dancing, time to talk with your guests, and time for those stunning sunset photos. As an added tip - have a designated family member film the speeches. You WILL cry and want to remember that once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Make it Unique to You. Here are some ideas from REAL brides talking about their wedding day: “Our flower "girls" are my adult male cousins who are heavily tattooed and going to walk down the aisle daintily spreading petals down the aisle.” “We took dance lessons and are working on a lightly choreographed first dance that's very "us" (read: goofy).” “We're having a sparkler exit because fire is fun!” “All of the flowers on the tables come from my mom and grandma’s garden.” Ask yourself: How can we incorporate unique “us-ness” into the wedding day to make it feel extra special? All of those unique moments make for great photos, too!
You’ve got this, and we CAN’T WAIT to make a fool of ourselves on the dance floor with you!!
